CoolerMaster announces V1100/V1300 SFX Platinum power supplies with PCIe Gen5 power connector for next-gen GPUs

CoolerMaster announces its first PCIe Gen5 compatible power supplies

ASUS Thor/Loki, MSI MPG/MEG, and now CoolerMaster V1100/V1300 Platinum are all to support the next-gen GPU power connector.

The company revealed two power supplies designed SFX form factor for Mini-ITX builds. Both supplies are 80+ Platinum certified (92% efficiency) and will offer either 1100W or 1300W of maximum power.

Above all, the most interesting upgrade is the GPU power connector. CoolerMaster is not calling it 12+4-pin or 16-pin, but simply a PCIe Gen5 connector. There is only one and it will have a 40cm long cable. Interestingly, the official description focuses on the PCIe Gen5 standard as a whole, rather than the power connector itself.

Designed according to the latest PCIe5.0 specification and Supports data link speed operation of 32GT/s with superior memory, storage capacity and segmentation capabilities to capture higher volumes of upstream and downstream traffic.

Nowhere does the company confirm the maximum current from this connector. However, one can see it features the full 12+4-pin implementation, therefore it should support up to 600W of power.

Cowcotland has a real photograph of the new V1100 power supply. The modular cable connectors are more extended than the renders appear to suggest.
