Chuwi LarkBox X 2023 costs half as much as predecessor
A Chinese company released an even cheaper Mini-PC.

Compared to the last-year’s model, Chuwi is switching CPU brands from AMD to Intel. The previous version had Ryzen 7 3750H CPU while the newer version will ship with an Intel N100 CPU instead. This does not mean the new version will be faster, though.
The LarkBox X 2023 has 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and 512GB of SSD. Both are upgrades compared to the 2022 model. As a reminder, the previous model had 8GB of DDR4-3200 memory and only 256GB of storage. There is also an upgrade to Ethernet ports, which are now 2.5 GbE (and there are two of them).

The CPU is a quad-core N100 from Intel, not officially part of the Core series. This processor is based on the Alder Lake-N family with no hybrid core design, which means all four cores are ‘Efficient’ cores. In exchange for using low-power cores exclusively, the TDP for this CPU is just 6W. The single-core and multi-core performance is actually lower than Ryzen 7 3750H, but given the upgrades to the storage, memory and networking, and half the price of the 2022 model, this is a good trade-off.
Chuwi is in a process of changing the product listing for the N100 version on Amazon, but the description and photos still list and show Ryzen system. The N100 CPU is not available for purchase yet, but at least we have a confirmation on a $199 price.
