NVIDIA board partners expecting RTX4080/4070Ti inventory to be depleted in December at latest

There is a new report from Board Channels, which is quoting their sources from various AIC (Add-in-Card) brands working with NVIDIA on the current situation in the high-end RTX 40 product status. The same site stated earlier that NVIDIA is now sending the last inventory shipments of RTX 4080/4070Ti SKUs to partners because the company is planning to introduce new products in early January.

The new graphics cards are called RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER. Particularly, the RTX 4080 SUPER is expected to be a minor update, by adding full AD103 GPU to the card, while 4070 Ti SUPER is said to bring more memory over the existing Ti variant.

According to the report, AICs expect the current inventory to be depleted soon. It suggests that in the coming weeks, there will be a fast reduction in the availability of these SKUs. It has been reported that board partners are currently maintaining the remaining inventory and awaiting the shipment of SUPER GPUs as replacements.

1. RTX4080 series: NVIDIA did not allocate a significant quantity of GPUs in the Q4 quarter. Consequently, the inventory levels at various AIC manufacturers are very low. It is anticipated that by November, the inventories of graphics card brands will be depleted and cleared.

2. RTX4070TI series: The last batch of shipments from NVIDIA in the Q4 quarter was not substantial. Based on the current inventory situation of AIC brand manufacturers, it is expected that clearing the inventory will be swift, with a possibility of completion as early as November and at the latest by December. The primary factors influencing the timeline are the factory’s inventory clearance speed and rhythm control.

Over the last year, there was barely any price change for the RTX 4080/4070Ti. The former is now available for around $1100, which is cheaper than $1200 MSRP, but it is not a big discount. This is especially interesting because AMD has cheaper RX 7900 XTX 24Gb and RX 7900 XT 20GB models in that area, and NVIDIA only ships with 16GB memory. The SUPER variant is not said to improve in that area.

Another important point is that the RTX 4080 SUPER is going to be the fastest RTX 40 model available in China. At the same time, the RTX 4090 has been officially removed from the NVIDIA China website recently. The pricing and availability of the cards will be impacted by this, especially in the initial days.
