Biostar announces Radeon RX 6600 mining system

The company has just sent out a press release with an announcement of RDNA2 based iMiner 660MX8D2 prebuilt system for mining.

Just two months ago, Biostar launched Radeon RX 580 based mining system with eight graphics card each. The iMiner A588X8D2 is capable of up to 232 MH/s of hash rate in ETH mining. Today, the company announces RDNA2 based cryptomining system with a total of eight Radeon RX 6600 graphics cards each.

The iMiner 660MX8D2 features Radeon RX 6600 GPUs that offer a total of 248 MH/s for ETH mining, so just about 7% faster than a RX 580 based system.

It is indeed a full-fledged system equipped with Biostar’s own B360 motherboard designed specifically for multi-GPU use, in this case cryptocurrency mining. This motherboard comes with Intel G4900 processor and 8GB of DDR4-2666 RAM.

The whole system is powered by a 2000W power supply, but graphics cards alone should not require more than 1056W, and that does not include optimizations.

At VideoCardz we would prefer to see graphics card going to gamers first, rather than mining rigs. However, with better availability of current-gen GPUs each day, such systems should no longer have an impact on the GPU market. Although, it would be great if AMD would instead supply these cards to companies that care more about gamers more than miners and profits.
