Mifcom BIG Boss combines Threadripper with seven RTX 4090
The ultimate workstation costs 29,000 euros.
It’s quite likely capable of running Crysis and much more. This ultimate workstation boasts an extensive GPU array comprising seven GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs. Each card is housed in a slim, single-slot design with its own water block.
What’s important to highlight is that this isn’t a gaming PC, although there’s nothing stopping anyone from trying. Mifcom’s Big Boss workstation series is tailored for tasks such as deep learning, data mining, and 3D rendering. The company avoided relying on expensive professional workstation GPUs like the RTX ADA or Radeon PRO GPUs. Instead, this PC employs seven RTX 4090 GPUs, which should deliver equivalent power, provided the software supports them.

This system boasts a total of 168GB of GDDR6X memory, enough for running advanced generative AI models, although it likely involves many optimizations. Interestingly, the power for each RTX 4090 GPU has been intentionally reduced to 300W. This may explain why the photographs show cards with two 8-pin power connectors instead of 16-pin. However, this might also be a different GPU entirely.
There’s no doubt that even with this reduced power limit, the seven RTX 4090 cards should provide enough rendering capabilities when using software like Octane or V-Ray, all while being more economical and running quieter, notes ComputerBase.
The system is armed with the most powerful AMD Threadripper currently available on the market, the PRO 5995WX pro with 64 Zen3 cores. One might wonder why Mifcom didn’t wait for the Threadripper PRO 7995WX, which is expected to offer 96 Zen4 cores. However, it’s evident that by the time this platform launches, companies like EK will have prepared compatible water-cooling equipment, which would have taken a significant amount of time.

The Big Boss comes equipped with an Asus Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI II motherboard along with 128GB of DDR4-3200 memory. In this case, there’s less system memory compared to graphics memory. In terms of power, the system is furnished with two 2000W power supplies.
The system can now be ordered directly from Mifcom website for 28,999 EUR. It will take 2 to 3 weeks for the system to be prepared.
