As part of the expanding ROG STRIX family of RTX 40 graphics cards, ASUS is introducing a new member named EVA-02 Edition. This design was recently announced, alongside a collection of new components inspired by the anime series Evangelion. ASUS continues its exclusive partnership with the khara studio behind the series, even though the show may have concluded.

The upcoming EVA-02 series features a distinct color scheme of red, black, and green, setting it apart from the EVA-01 series (which had purple, black, and green colors) that was popular during the time of the RTX 30 series.

Similar to previous releases, ASUS is unveiling an impressive array of hardware, including motherboards, GPUs, CPU coolers, and peripherals. However, the main highlight revolves around the new RTX 4090 GPU, which boasts a fresh and updated appearance with a new die-cast shroud, backplate, and eye-catching RGB lighting.

This new graphics card retains the highly effective 3.5-slot thick cooling design with three axial fans, delivering powerful cooling performance. As for the specifications, it maintains the same impressive features as the original model, including a boost clock of up to 2640 MHz with GPU Tweak software and an out-of-the-box experience of 2610 MHz.

NVIDIA Ada Lovelace Streaming Multiprocessors: Up to 2x performance and power efficiency

  • 4th Generation Tensor Cores: Up to 2X AI performance
  • 3rd Generation RT Cores: Up to 2X ray tracing performance
  • Axial-tech fans scaled up for 23% more airflow
  • New patented vapor chamber with milled heatspreader for lower GPU temps
  • 3.5-slot design: massive fin array optimized for airflow from the three Axial-tech fans
  • Diecast shroud, frame, and backplate add rigidity and are vented to further maximize airflow and heat dissipation
  • Digital power control with high-current power stages and 15K capacitors to fuel maximum performance

In addition to the GPU, ASUS is also introducing other products that complement the EVA-02 theme. These include the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 edition motherboard, the new ROY RYUJIN III cooler, and ROG Hyperion PC cases that embrace the same striking design. Furthermore, gamers can look forward to matching peripherals, such as a mouse, keyboard, and VGA-support bracket, completing the immersive and stylish gaming setup.

The EVA-02 Edition is not the only new card currently being developed by ASUS. The company is also working on RTX 4070 based “RO JI” Edition featuring a similar color scheme, but both projects are not directly related or part of the same theme. To add to that, the RO JI design will not be released to the global market, while EVA-02 might, as the card has an official global webpage.
