ASUS ROG Matrix or ROG Poseidon?

The company teases a graphics card that no one has ever seen yet

A new ROG GeForce GPU is inbound. According to the official ASUS ROG Gaming social media account, there is a new GeForce RTX 40 graphics card coming that will be the highest and fastest GPU made thus far. The visual teaser hints at a unique look and performance that will set a tone for a new ROG gaming GPU. However, neither the teaser not any of the data we collected seems to confirm what model is being prepared.

ASUS has not developed a ROG Matrix graphics card for a while, and there were no updates to ROG Poseidon line for just as long. Those were the flagship ASUS GPUs at the time and that were usually released on separate occasions. ASUS’ flagship tier has now been taken over by ROG STRIX series, both in terms of performance and pricing. Therefore, it is very intriguing to see what could ASUS be preparing this time around.

The teaser image does not show any fans on what seems to be the card’s front. That said, it is either a fancy AIO liquid cooling or a new design with fans hidden or not used at all.

One thing is clear, there has been no indicator that NVIDIA could be unveiling a new RTX 40 GPU, so we are definitely expecting something based on an existing SKU, such as RTX 4090. According to the announcement, ASUS will be revealing the new card on May 30th at 9:30 Taipei time.

Update: ASUS has accidentally confirmed that the new GPU will be RTX 40 ROG MATRIX.
