ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII leaks

The ROG Maximus XII is the top-of-the-line motherboard series from ASUS. The 12th generation of Maximus brings have a new model to the lineup called Extreme Glacial (which is not pictured), presumably a white edition of the Maximus XII Extreme.

The four motherboards pictured below: ROG Maximus XII Formula, ROG Maximus XII Extreme, ROG Maximus XII Hero (Wi-Fi) and ROG Maximus XII Apex are all 16 power stage design. Interestingly they also all support DDR4-4800 OCed memory.

The datasheet clearly confirms that the Z490 ASUS motherboards have PCI-Express 3.0, not 4.0, although some rumors indicate that Z490 motherboards already have 4.0 support, but only for the Rocket Lake-S series.

All motherboards except Hero have 2.5 Gbe network card. Formula and Extreme also have 10Gbe networking. The ROG Maximus XII Extreme is the only E-ATX motherboard from the ROG series.

We expect more details on these motherboards in the coming weeks.
