ASUS confirms full specs of its RTX 30 Laptop GPUs

On a request from Tweakers, ASUS has provided a full list of RTX 30 mobile specs.

The company has also added the specification to its website, leading among other brands that have not yet done so. Thanks to the information provided by ASUS, it is possible to easily determine which laptop ships with power limited GPU and if they do, it is easy to understand to what extent. ASUS actually went one step further from any brand yet by providing the clock speeds for each GPU model. This will help determine which graphics card model exactly is available with the laptop from a long list of 28 potential configurations.

It has now been confirmed that ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE ships with 115W TGP variants of GeForce RTX 30 graphic cards. This is the same maximum power as ROG Strix (Scar) 17/15. More portable and thinner designs such as G15 or TUF Dash F15 will offer up to 80W TGP GeForce RTX models. Somewhere in between, there are TUF Gaming A17/A17 laptops with TGP limited to 90W. The ROG Zephyrus G14, which was a very popular choice last year as a Renoir-based laptop, will offer up to RTX 3060 Max-Q with 60W which can be dynamically boosted up to 80W.

The ROG Flow X13, which we covered in a separate article, will ship with a discrete GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU with a TGP of 35W. However, this netbook has a special connector for ROG XG Mobile dock/GPU enclosure, which ships with up to RTX 3080 150W GPU, the most powerful variant available to gaming laptops.

Other manufacturers have not yet provided the full information on the exact GeForce RTX 30 mobile variants in their laptops. Companies such as Gigabyte, Acer, Lenovo have not shared any information at all, forcing consumers to look for reviews or to contact customer support, who may not always provide the most up to date information. The only other manufacturer that has already revealed TGP specs for its laptops is MSI.

MSI has not yet shared this information on their public websites under the detailed product specifications. For now, unfortunately to potential customers, this article and 3rd party reviews are for now the only way to determine the specs of the 2021 gaming laptops.
