ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB memory debuts at a higher price than RTX 4070

The initial reports were right, ASUS top RTX 4060 Ti costs more than higher-end SKU.

Once again, ASUS has released a new GPU in their premium ROG STRIX line, and it’s no surprise that it comes with a hefty price tag. ASUS graphics cards have consistently been priced on the higher side, but the ROG STRIX models take it to another level, reaching the cost of higher-end SKUs.

The newest ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB VRAM has debuted with a price of €659 in Germany, which is €60 more than the cheapest RTX 4070 cards in this market. As shown by reviews, the RTX 4070 is easy 20-30% faster, so ASUS’ higher price may be impossible to justify at this point.

The RTX 4060 Ti DUAL series stands out with a price tag of €549, offering a slightly more affordable option compared to the RTX 4070. However, the price difference between the two is still minimal.

Officially priced at $499, the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB holds the record for the highest price for an XX60-class GPU in recent history. NVIDIA justifies this price increase by doubling the memory capacity from 8GB to 16GB. However, there has been some hesitation from NVIDIA in providing samples to reviewers. These cards are now available for purchase, and the ROG STRIX variant can be preordered. Alternatively, and as crazy as it may sound, gamers can choose the faster RTX 4070 at a lower price.
