ASRock ready for Raptor Lake Refresh
ASRock recently shared an unusual blog post on their Chinese Weibo social media account. In anticipation of the upcoming launch of the 14th Gen Core series for desktops, ASRock has released an article introducing some fundamental details about this platform.
It’s worth mentioning that ASRock’s Weibo account often reposts content from Chinese press sources, including rumors and leaks that might not be suitable for an official profile. However, this particular article was authored by ASRock themselves and not by any third-party outlet.
Within the article, the company reaffirms a couple of rumors surrounding the “Next-Gen” series. These rumors suggest a potential increase in single-core performance by 4% to 8% and a multi-core performance boost of 8% to 15%. The origin of these figures remains somewhat unclear, as they seem to stem from a limited number of leaks based on non-retail samples. If these rumors hold any truth, ASRock might have divulged more than was previously known.

Additionally, ASRock notes that the upcoming series will come with native support for the DDR5-6400 JEDEC memory standard. This marks a improvement compared to the 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake” series, which supports DDR5-4800 JEDEC, and the newer 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” series, which supports DDR5-5600.
Furthermore, ASRock is informing its customers that their revamped website will feature a fresh badge indicating “Next-Gen CPU Ready.” Customers can also verify the latest BIOS for each motherboard, which should now include new BIOS versions with support for the upcoming ‘next-gen’ CPUs.

ASRock’s announcement confirms that the new series is set to debut in October of this year, although the exact date isn’t specified. It’s highly probable that Intel will unveil this new series during its Innovation 2023 event in late September. However, enthusiasts will have to wait an additional month before the first 14th Gen Core K-series CPUs (14900K/14700K/14600K) become available for purchase.
