ASRock Radeon RX 6600 (XT) series spotted in EEC filing

AMD Radeon RX 6600 series

AMD Radeon RX 6600 series were rumored to launch alongside Radeon RX 6700 non-XT, however, no substantial leaks on either of those SKUs have surfaced in the past few weeks. It does seem we have a new development though.

On EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) website, there is a new filing from ASRock Europe. The submission features Radeon RX 6600 XT as well as RX 6600 non-XT models, interestingly with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. This might be a confirmation that RX 6600 series might indeed feature a 128-bit memory bus.

Judging from product codes we can distinguish RX 6600 XT Phantom Gaming D, P, and I SKUs. Meanwhile, the RX 6600 non-XT variant would only debut under the Challenger series:

This isn’t the first time RX 6600 XT appears in ASRock EEC filing though. The company had already submitted RX 6600 XT 12GB model, but that was 3 months ago. The fact that the new listing shows 8GB memory, indicates that there has been a change in plans or the previous listing was simply inaccurate.

At this moment AMD has made no announcements of the announcements, except for the Computex 2021 keynote. The keynote is officially covering ‘high-performance computing’ which may not necessarily mean an introduction of the mid-range Radeon RX 6600 graphics card series. We do however expect an update on the mobile RX 6000M series, which were promised to launch this quarter. It would make a lot of sense to launch Navi 23 based products for both desktop and laptop platforms at the same time.
