ASRock to introduce Steel Legend GPU

According to the rumors, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 desktop graphics card is to be launched later this month. Many leaks show that AMD board partners are indeed working on this launch. It is now reported that ASRock will release as many as three custom variants based on the RX 7600 GPU:

  • ASRock Radeon RX 7600 8GB Challenger OC (RX 7600 CL 8GO)
  • ASRock Radeon RX 7600 8GB Phantom Gaming OC  (RX 7600 PG 8GO)
  • ASRock Radeon RX 7600 8GB Steel Legend OC (RX 7600 SL 8GO)

The new addition is the Steel Legend SKU, which has not been used for graphics cards before. However, this is a popular mid-range variant for ASRock motherboard lineup.

What is worth noting is that there is no sign of the Challenger ITX design yet, although such SKU was available with the Radeon 6600 series. Interestingly, all three models are factory-overclocked, so we might be looking at the so-called non-MSRP cards. The previous rumors have suggested that AMD will split the review embargo into MSRP (and reference) and non-MSRP models, similarly to what NVIDIA did with the GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.

Some GPU fans might notice that Radeon RX 7900 XT Taichi White is also included in this EEC update. It’s a new version of the Taichi SKU that was released last month. The Intel Arc series is also getting a small update with a new Arc A380 in a low-profile form factor.
