ASRock’s mid-range B650 motherboard series exposed

The Taiwanese company is preparing at least seven models of B650 motherboards, including three of the “Extreme” variant.

We have already shared pictures of three B650 motherboards from ASRock, but now we have a full list. We can now confirm that B650 Taichi is E-ATX form factor, and it ships with 24+2+1 VRM phase design (CPU+SOC+MEM). For comparison, the B550 Taichi with AM4 socket had 16 phase total (14+2) and it was an ATX board.

Five out of the boards have 8-layer PCB design, with B650M Riptide being 6-layer and B650E PG-ITX/ax using 10 layers. Only the B650E series have PCIe Gen5 x16 support, but they all support Gen5 x4 M.2 storage. Seven boards is not a long list, but there E-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX form factor included.

ASRock is to confirm the specs of B650 series next week at AMD’s Meet the Expert webinar, where one should expect an official showcase of the AM5 mid-range offer.
