7nm Big Navi is on track?

During AMD second quarter Q&A, AMD’s Lisa Su was asked about high-end Navi products. To this point, AMD has not confirmed the existence of such GPUs.

Q: Can you give us a sense on 7nm high-end NAVI and mobile 7nm CPUs

A: You asked a good product question. I would say they are coming. You should expect that our execution on those are on track and we have a rich 7nm portfolio beyond the products that we have already announced in the upcoming quarters.

The two important bits from this statement are: Big Navi is happening and it is on track. The question itself was also about 7nm mobile products, but the answer explicitly included ‘those’ referring to both high-end GPUs and mobile products.

Sapphire spilled the beans on possible Big Navi model naming. At Eurasian Economic Commission they submitted a huge list of ‘possible’ products. Models such as Radeon RX 5950XT or RX 5800 have been listed there. We believe that most of them are just placeholder, but it does prove that AMD board partners are thinking ahead and their plans are not stopping at Navi 10.
