AMD Threadripper 7000 finally listed

Hardware detective @momomo_us finds AMD product codes for next-gen AMD Threadripper series.

The upcoming Zen4-based Threadripper 7000 series are to feature product code starting from 100-0000135x. Those product codes are already listed by AMD in the official OPN product list, but without a name for each SKU. Turns out there is a leak that already exposes those names specifically for the new Threadripper series.

It seems AMD is indeed preparing two HEDT series, namely the non-PRO 7900X version and the PRO 7905WX models. Whether both will be released to the market, it is too early to say, but some leakers believe that the former will have limited capability due to a use of a smaller SP6 socket. The workstation WX variant would use SP5 socket instead.

As long as rumors are concerned, Threadripper 7000 should launch next quarter. One should expect at least 64 cores and 128 threads, but should AMD want to increase the core count, nothing should prevent the company from using EPYC Genoa configurations featuring up to 96 cores.

The new platform should utilize either the LGA6096 (PRO) or LGA4844 (HEDT) socket, both using modern technologies such as DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5 interface. Details such as clocks or maximum TDPs remain unknown.
