Sneak Peek on the new AMD FidelityFX SDK at GDC 2023

AMD to discuss new technologies coming to the FidelityFX feature stack soon.

The upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) is an annual professional conference for video game developers and related industries. The GDC is considered one of the largest and most important conferences in the video game industry, and it attracts thousands of attendees every year.

The conference features a variety of activities, including lectures, panels, tutorials, roundtable discussions, and exhibits, all focused on the art and science of making video games. The schedule is tight with many panels discussing the newest games and technologies. One of such discussions will be devoted to AMD FidelityFX Software Development Kit:

The FidelityFX software stack includes various technologies, including but not limited to: Super Resolution (FSR), Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS), Ambient Occlusion, Variable Shading, Space Screen Space Reflections or filters like Denoiser. These are all crucial tools for game development and all these features combined the development much faster.

AMD has now confirmed it will showcase new technologies that part of the SDK during this GDK session. While it is not clear what is planned, one must remember that AMD is preparing an FSR 3.0 technology to launch somewhere in the following months. This would be a perfect time to at least mention how it will be integrated into updated SDK.

The GDC 2023 starts on March 20, while the AMD FidelityFX SDK panel is set for March 23. The company has more sessions planned, but so does NVIDIA. Unfortunately, no sessions from Intel are planned.
