While the initial announcement for the Gamescom event hinted at a possible ‘product launch,’ it didn’t explicitly disclose AMD’s intended announcement.

In recent weeks, speculation has been brewing regarding updates to the Radeon RX 7000 series, largely spurred by PowerColor’s leak of the Radeon RX 7800 XT GPU. AMD has neither confirmed nor denied this leak, but it’s anticipated that the company will provide updates on the Navi 32-based RDNA3 GPUs this week. On August 25th, AMD is reportedly set to release the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT models.

During Gamescom, attendees can encounter a teaser made of cardboard for the impending GPU launch. It hints at more information being revealed on August 26th, a day after the initial announcement. It’s worth noting that Gamescom officially commenced yesterday and will run until August 27th, with various companies in attendance, including AMD board partners like ASUS and ASRock:

The RX 7800 XT is rumored to feature a full Navi 32 GPU with 60 Compute Units, coupled with 16GB of GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit memory bus, a configuration quite similar to the RX 7900 GRE. Meanwhile, specifics regarding the RX 7700 XT remain unconfirmed, but leaks have suggested that this model will maintain the current RX 6700 XT’s 12GB 192-bit memory configuration.

AMD’s “Gaming Festival” is scheduled for this Friday, August 25th, starting at 12:00 local German time. The “Highlight Show,” featuring AMD GPU Chief Scott Herkelman, is set for 17:00 hours.
