AMD preparing its first Ryzen PRO with Zen4

AMD is set to launch the Phoenix APU under the Ryzen PRO series.

The upcoming Ryzen 9 PRO 7940HS is an 8-core and 16-thread mobile processor designed for professional workloads. The PRO series of Ryzen CPUs is indented for businesses and enterprises with extended software support, remote management features and increased power efficiency.

This CPU has just been spotted on the Ashes of the Singularity benchmark website, where it was tested in a 1080p Minimum preset. Interestingly, the APU was paired with Radeon RX 7600M GPU, which has yet to be released. Given the nature of the AotS database, details on clock speeds, platform name or anything that could actually be useful is sadly unavailable. However, we are almost certainly looking at an OEM system developed by companies like Lenovo or HP, who tend to be among the first to launch Ryzen PRO systems.

The Ryzen PRO 7940HS is the tenth known Phoenix APU to date, following the announcement of the 7040H and 7040U series and leaks featuring the 7040HS SKU. This leak also confirms that this will be another ‘7940’ part with Radeon 780M RDNA3 integrated GPU. The specs should be similar, if not identical, to the Ryzen 9 7940HS, bar the PRO features mentioned above.
