AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU with turbo clock of 4.6 GHz
A new benchmark result of the upcoming AMD desktop APU based on Zen3 core design has just appeared on Geekbench. The processor has not yet been announced by AMD, but it seems that the engineering samples have recently been distributed and thanks to that, leaks have started to appear.
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is an 8-core and 16-thread processor based on Cezanne-AM4 silicon. Unlike the current Ryzen 5000 desktop processors, the G-Series offer built-in Radeon graphics. The upcoming processors will still rely on Radeon Vega iGPU. Only its successor codenamed Rembrandt should finally move on to RDNA-based graphics.
According to Geekbench, the CPU has a base clock of 3.8 GHz. When it comes to the turbo frequency, the software does not immediately reveal the clock speeds, but the JSON page confirms it will boost up to 4.6 GHz. In such a case, the CPU would offer 200 MHz higher base and turbo frequencies compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 4700G based on Renoir (Zen2).
The APU was tested on the MSI B550M Mortar motherboard, confirming that there is a BIOS that supports Zen3-based APUs already.

The Ryzen 7 5700G scored 1304 points in Geekbench single-core benchmark and 8717 points in the multi-core. Do note this test was performed on Linux. Since Ryzen 7 4700G has not been available to the DIY market, there aren’t that many results of the Renoir-based APU in the Geekbench database. The APU appears to be 5-10% faster than its predecessor. However, there are results where Renoir has almost identical (if not better) performance.
