AMD Zen3 5600X wins with Zen4 7600X

Some Zen4 desktop CPUs are selling worse than others.

It looks like 6-core Ryzen 5 7600X is desperate for another price cut. The data from German retailer shows that AMD 5600X is at least four times as popular as the new Zen4 model.

Mindfactory is one of the few retailers that provides direct information on each product sales. This gives us a unique opportunity to track how many CPUs are being sold daily. Some Redditors use this to create informative graphs showing which brand is the most popular and how much revenue they bring.

We followed the data mentioned by Reddit thread and updated it with the most recent figures. Since we know how many of each CPU were sold and when they were released, we can easily calculate how many processors are sold per each day. Although the Ryzen 9 7900X is still the least popular Zen4 desktop CPU (only 14.2 units sold per day), it is still not as outclassed as Ryzen 5 7600X, thus far AMD’s most popular segment.

According to this data, AMD has been selling 91 units of Ryzen 5 5600X each day. That’s significantly more (4.2x) than 7600X which averages at 21.7 units. The sales have slightly kicked off after AMD lowered the price for 7600X, but it is still nowhere near as popular as the predecessor. Another interesting way to look at this data, a total number of AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 7 5700X CPUs sold (released April 20th) nearly matches the whole Ryzen 7000 series combined.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X again at €599

Since we are at it, it is worth noting that AMD Ryzen 9 7950X has just returned to its all-time low price in Germany. It is now sold for €599, which is around €240 less from its peak in late September. Thus far, this small price correction only affects the 16-core CPU from Ryzen 7000 series.
