ExecutableFix has been sharing confidential information on AMD’s next-generation products. He has now revealed the specifications of the first Ryzen 5000U processor.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600U

The upcoming series of products based on the FP6 socket is codenamed Cezanne. The series will feature AMD’s Zen3 core design and GCN Vega graphics. The current Ryzen 4000 mobile series codenamed Renoir is based on Zen2 architecture and offers the same graphics architecture.

According to the leaker, AMD Ryzen 5 5600U would be higher clocked than 4600U by 200 MHz (both base and boost clock). That alone should provide a noticeable performance upgrade over Zen2 chips.

AMD has recently adopted Ryzen 5000 series nomenclature for its desktop series in an effort to streamline its product lineup for both mobile and desktop platforms. That, however, might not be the case.

According to the same leaker, AMD would split the 5000U series into Cezanne and Lucienne. AMD Lucienne is a derivative of Renoir (based on Zen2 architecture). It’s worth reminding that both codenames come from French artists – Lucienne Bisson was the daughter of Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

The specifications of the Ryzen 5800U, 5700U, and 5500U are currently unknown. It is also not clear when AMD is expected to unveil its Cezanne series, but one would guess it could happen at least a year later after Renoir (April).
