AMD might be preparing a fifth Ryzen 5000 series SKU – the 5600.

AMD is rumored to launch a Ryzen 5 5600 processor next year, according to a rumor posted by @harukaze5719. The leaker claims that the news came from an article, although the original source cannot be found. Harukaze has been sharing quality leaks in the past, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

According to the rumor, AMD would launch its Ryzen 5 5600 non-X processor, likely to feature 6 cores and 12 threads, in 2021. The launch would come at the same time as AMD officially launches the AGESA firmware update for its X470/B450 motherboard with Zen3 processor support.

Additionally, a price of 220 USD is mentioned, which is an increase of 20 USD compared to Ryzen 5 3600. This is also 80 USD less than the already announced Ryzen 5 5600X.

The x600 series have been a very popular choice among gamers, who would rather spend more money on GPUs rather than CPUs, which do not really improve performance as much as the graphics cards.

According to the same rumor, the Ryzen 5 5600X is allegedly similar or better than Core i7-10700 non-K. The non-X variant might therefore compete with the Core i5-10600 series.
