Retailers struggling to sell the latest GPUs
Spanish retailer CoolMod offers RTX 4060 at €299 already.
The recently launched RTX 4060 non-Ti GPU has already experienced a significant price drop within a week of its release. A Spanish retailer is currently offering the card at a price of €299.95, which is considerably lower than the official MSRP of €335 in the country.
This downward trend in pricing is not exclusive to a single retailer, as many European vendors have started discounting the latest addition to the RTX 40 series. German retailers, for instance, are offering a 6% discount on this GPU. However, the Spanish retailer has gone even further by providing a 10% reduction in price, despite the card being available for just a week.
When we consider the most affordable variants of all recently introduced models, it becomes apparent that each model is already 10% cheaper. This serves as a clear indication that the initial prices were excessively high, potentially contributing to the lackluster interest shown by gamers.
Recent GPU launches vs. cheapest CoolMod offers:
- RTX 4060 Ti: MSRP €449, listed at €399.95 (-11%)
- RTX 4060: MSRP €335, listed at €299.95 (-10%)
- RX 7600: MSRP €299, listed at €259.94 (-13%)
GPU makers will face more pricing dilemmas as they plan future releases. With underwhelming interest in the RTX 4060 8GB card, the upcoming 16GB variant may encounter even greater challenges. A reevaluation of pricing strategies may become necessary.
