AMD RX 7900 XTX pricing finally drops below $900

The RX 7900 XTX’s price cut was a long time coming, but it’s finally here. Amazon now has coupons for $98/$100 on two custom models from XFX and Sapphire. These coupons make the price lower than $900. These cards be bought for as low as $881.99 (XFX Merc 310) and $889.99 (Sapphire). That’s up to $118 below MSRP, finally matching price cuts on RX 7900 XT.

As we can see, it is not just the XTX model that was discounted. We have reported on RX 7900 XTX price cuts for many months now, but the price has just dropped to the $720 mark, it is the lowest price for this card yet.

Custom Radeon RX 7900 series at $880/$720 should put a lot of pressure on GeForce RTX 4070 Ti/4070 series, currently available at $800/600 respectively. AMD RX 7900 XTX has at least twice the memory, and it can match or surpass RTX 4080 in gaming, so that should be a much better investment than NVIDIA’s AD104 GPU at this point, despite an $80 difference.

HardwareUnboxed provided an update on GPU retail price at Newegg. This chart is barely a day old and Radeon pricing is significantly lower.

Currently, no other retailer than Amazon has such a good deal on Radeon RX 7900 series, but who knows what the future holds. It is also worth reminding that AMD is preparing its Radeon RX 7800 XT GPU for launch, probably next quarter.
