Radeon RX 7900 GRE now offered by Australian pre-built PC maker
The availability of the RX 7900 GRE is on the rise, but it is not meeting the expectations of gamers in terms of speed, at all.
After the recent launch of a gaming prebuilt system in Germany featuring AMD’s latest desktop Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card, the Australian company PLE is also entering the select group of AMD partners by launching their own system. The Australian version offers more hardware options compared to its German counterpart, giving gamers the flexibility to choose their preferred CPU, motherboard, and memory, which could lead to significant price variations.
The system comes with an AMD reference design graphics card supplied by XFX to all system integrators. This card is the same model that Chinese reviewers received, providing gamers with some insight into its performance. Unfortunately, PowerColor’s Red Devil and Sapphire NITRO+ versions were not made available for testing.

Regarding pricing, the full system cost will largely depend on the individual choices of gamers. However, the GPU itself seems to be at least 100 AUD (66 USD) more expensive than the cheapest RTX 4070 option. This aligns with expectations since the RX 7900 GRE has an MSRP of 649 USD, slightly higher than the 599 USD launch price of the RTX 4070.

The RX7900GRE features the Navi 31 XL graphics processor with 80 Compute Units and is paired with 16GB of GDDR6 memory. This model is the first in the Navi 31 series to have a TDP below 300W, officially reported at 260W. AMD has not made any public announcements regarding this model, except for its presentation in China, where it will be exclusively launched in the DIY market. It appears that AMD is not yet ready to discuss the 16GB desktop offering with the international community.
For the time being, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE will be exclusively available through system integrators for gamers outside of China. As of now, only three board partners have confirmed that they will offer this model to gamers. The only card available to gamers outside China is the XFX version featuring AMD MBA (Made by AMD) design.
