Radeon RX 7900 GRE now even cheaper in Europe

Italian retailer lowers the price to just €617.

The AMD RX 7900 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) price is going down, with a difference of almost €60 in just 10 days. The Italian retailer claims to have over 200 XFX RX 7900 GRE models in stock and is selling them for €616.54, much less than the €672 we reported earlier.

The price of the RX 7900 XT has not changed much over that period, in fact, the lowest price of €835 has not changed at all. However, the GRE model is now over €200 cheaper. This price looks even better when we consider that RX 7900 XT has 5376 cores and GRE has 5120 cores, a difference of only 5%. But the GRE also has a change in how much memory it has. Instead of having 20GB of G6, it now has 16GB. That’s something not to ignore either.

AMD Radeon RX 7000 (Lowest EU Price according to Geizhals):

  • Radeon RX 7900 XT 20GB: €835
  • Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16GB: €617 ⬇️
  • Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB:  €539 ⬇️

Gamers might find the RX 7900 GRE model a compelling option now, as it comes with only a 15% higher cost compared to the RX 7800 XT, yet boasts 33% more cores. This indicates a potential need for a quick price adjustment for the RX 7800 XT unless AMD takes decisive measures to deter GRE sales in the global market. After all, the GRE model is not officially meant for the global DIY market, but for system integrators and OEMs, who’ve decided to supply the GPU to retailers.

NVIDIA is also expected to launch RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4070 SUPER in January, which will no doubt affect the pricing for all mentioned Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards. The choice in the upper high-end segment will be much better in two months, hopefully at much better prices.
