Radeon RX 7600 XT finally has a release date

According to the report from Moore’s Law is Dead, AMD has notified board partners about the upcoming embargo schedule for the next Radeon desktop update.

AMD is now to focus on the mid-range GPU segment, just as NVIDIA is to unveil its RTX 4060 series next month. It is reported that the RX 7600 XT GPU is to arrive on May 25th, which is the rumored release date for this new card.

Board partners are to begin sampling the RX 7600 XT GPU to press and influencers starting from May 15th, giving 10 days for the shipping and testing by the recipients. At the time of writing, it was unclear if there are any AMD reference models planned.

Interestingly, it appears that AMD will copy NVIDIA’s guidelines by splitting the review embargoes between MSRP and non-MSRP cards. This is good news for consumers, who would prefer to see cheaper cards at launch and. Such a move forces board partners to prioritize those cards on launch day.

On the other hand, everyone waiting for non-MSRP reviews and testing details of higher-end models, will have to either be fast readers or else their cards may go out of stock (but probably won’t anyway). Unfortunately, nothing thus far suggests AMD will launch RX 7700 or 7800 series in the coming weeks.
