AMD Radeon RX 6950XT drops to $610 prior to GeForce RTX 4070 launch

Flagship Radeon RDNA2 GPU is now available for just $609.99

This might be a hard decision to make, the latest RTX 4070 ‘mid-range’ GPU at $599 or a flagship RX 6950XT card from last generation for just $10 more.

AMD has been vocal about their lead in offering the highest memory capacity on desktop GPUs for the price. The company even came up with a marketing post comparing modern desktop GPUs side-by-side with their respective pricing at Newegg. Well, it appears that AMD might need to change their slides once again, as the RDNA2 flagship has just reached a record low price.

The Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 6950XT from ASRock is equipped with a full Navi 21 GPU and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. The card is currently listed at $629.99, but there is an extra promo code reducing the price by another $20. This is the lowest price for RX 6950XT thus far, and it is now on path to reach RX 6900 XT pricing from just a few weeks ago.

The promotion appears just a day ahead of GeForce RTX 4070 launch, a desktop card that offers 12GB of GDDR6X memory and a cut-down Ada Lovelace AD104 GPU. This card took the headlines today as reviewers were finally allowed to share their results of the cheapest models, with coverage of higher-end options coming tomorrow.
