Intel Z690 motherboard in RX 6600 review
One of the launch reviews of Radeon RX 6600, AMD’s latest RDNA2 graphics card, features a yet unannounced platform of AMD’s competitor: Intel.
Bilibili content creator “Enthusiastic Citizen” published a review feating ASRock RX 6600 Challenger D graphics card. This review was part of the October 13th launch review, which implies that the user had to follow strict embargo rules when it comes to publishing the content featuring AMD’s new card. Apparently, the same user is not under an embargo with Intel, at least he is doing a pretty bad job at hiding the test equipment.

The whole platform has been blurred out, so it is unclear which motherboard is used, however, such a design with black and white colors is usually attached to ASUS PRIME or ASROCK Steel Legend series, which leaked last week.
Furthermore, we learn that the system was equipped with Zadak’s DDR4 memory (DDR4 3866 C14-14-14-34 2T Gear1), so it was a DDR4 compatible board.
The creator revealed the scores of Core i9-12900K in UL’s 3DMark Time Spy and Fire Strike benchmarks, which is CPU test to be specific:
- Time Spy: 17915
- Time Spy Extreme: 9004
- Fire Strike: 41278
- Fire Strike Extreme: 41477

The tester also shared a screenshot featuring Core i9-12900 in Forza Horizon 4. A comparison picture featuring AMD Ryzen 9 5950X system has been conveniently provided by @9550pro. What is important to note is that both CPUs were tested using different operating systems: Core i9-12900 in Windows 11 whereas the Ryzen CPU on Windows 10. However, both were using DDR4-3600 memory.

Furthermore, gaming test results from Rainbow Six Siege and Shadow of the Tomb Raider have been provided. Both were at 1080p resolution:

Intel Core i9-12900K is now set to launch next month, a week after Intel’s Innovation event which takes place on October 27th. The Alder Lake-S CPU series is to require a new platform equipped with an LGA1700 socket and support PCIe Gen5 devices. Some motherboards will also support DDR5 memory technology (which was not the case in this review).
