AMD Radeon RX 6600 non-XT not launching in August

A new report from Coreteks indicates that AMD is splitting the launch of its Navi 23 GPUs.

Earlier this week Fudzilla reported that AMD will launch both Radeon RX 6600 XT and Radeon RX 6600 non-XT on the same day, which is allegedly August 11th. As it is now reported by a YouTuber Coreteks, who has correctly predicted the launch date of Radeon RX 6700XT as well as FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, that the non-XT variant will actually be delayed till at least September.

According to Coreteks, AMD Radeon RX 6600 non-XT will launch in September or October, which suggests that there is still no firm date for this particular SKU. It is also worth noting that AMD has still not released the Radeon RX 6700 non-XT despite its XT sibling launching as long as 4 months ago.

AMD Radeon RX 6600 is expected to feature 1792 Stream Processors, which is the same configuration as mobile RX 6600M and Radeon Pro W6600 series for workstations. Although the launch date contradicts Fudzilla’s reporting, it does not mean that AMD will not announce both cards at the same time. The announcement which is now expected next Thursday could still feature both SKUs.

AMD Navi 24 by the end of this year

Furthermore, a tweet from Coreteks suggests we won’t be seeing Navi 24 GPU anytime soon. This is the fourth and the slowest graphics processor from the AMD RDNA2 series. This GPU is expected to succeed Radeon RX 5500 series, which has been quite popular in the laptop market. That said, the Navi 24 GPU could arrive with Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” mobile APU series at this point.
