NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards on their way to MSRP
The graphics card pricing at the end of May is almost at the MSRP level.
Nearly at the end of the RTX 30/RX6000 generation, GPU pricing is now almost at the MSRP level. 3DCenter reports that if it wasn’t for the ‘core portfolio’ the average price of graphics cards would almost certainly be either at MSRP level or below it.
3DCenter’s GPU pricing analysis, which started last year in January, has been the longest-running report on this subject, ever since it become a problem. The COVID-19 pandemic, the growing popularity of work from home and family entertainment, combined with the sudden growth of cryptocurrency value, have all contributed to the longest graphics card price increase in history. However, as all those things are slowly going back to normality, the GPU prices are reaching new lows, and gamers can now find cards at MSRP or sometimes even below it.
Some cards, defined as ‘core portfolio’ remain still as the most expensive SKUs. Those include Radeon RX 6700/6800/6800XT and GeForce RTX 3060Ti/3070/3080. Those cards are calculated into the graph below, but without them the pricing would already be below MSRP for AMD cards and just slightly above MSRP for NVIDIA.

Our readers ‘favorite’ Radeon RX 6500XT is now at 19% below MSRP. If it wasn’t for RX 6800XT/6800 and 6700 models, the average MSRP would drop 3.2% below MSRP.
