AMD Radeon to unveil new products at Gamescom

Scott Herkelman (Senior VP & GM at General Manager Graphics Business Unit at AMD) has confirmed today that AMD will announce new products at Gamescom.

The upcoming week holds significant importance for enthusiasts of Radeon products, as the company prepares to unveil its latest products. The tweet by Herkelman doesn’t provide explicit details about these new products, except for emphasizing they are major in nature.

As anticipation builds, AMD is poised to introduce at least two new desktop Radeon GPUs: the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT. The credibility of this possibility gains further support from a substantial leak by PowerColor, which prematurely disclosed specifications for one of these GPU models.

The AMD Radeon RX 7000 series now encompasses four distinct SKUs: the 7900 XTX, 7900 XT, RX 7600, and an exclusive model for the Chinese market known as the RX 7900 GRE, available through system integrators in other regions. However, there has been persistent demand among gamers for more affordable mid-range options from AMD, especially considering NVIDIA’s launch of the GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 series, which highlighted a gap in AMD’s response.

AMD has scheduled its event for August 25th at 17:00 local (German) time. This is likely when new products will be unveiled.

AMD is also behind its schedule to unveil HYPR-RX technology, not to mention its FSR3 upscaling tech, both were presented as major selling points for Radeon RX 7900 series back in January. The company hasn’t released any important updates on either technology for months.
