AMD Navi 23 is confirmed

Decoding AMD graphics chips is not an easy task. The more products AMD releases, the more likely they are to overlap with different architectures. Not all products are always up to date, so despite being the latest they actually feature last-gen architecture (such as Raven or Renoir with Vega graphics).

Some of the chips listed below have been known for a long time. A good example is Arcturus, AMD’s upcoming CDNA-based Radeon Instinct accelerator. This architecture is still a mystery, so we are unsure if the GPU will feature more of the GCN or NAVI backbone.

The latest news is that on Twitter rogame today confirmed the GFX level for the Navi 23 graphics processor. The new Navi chip is now listed in between Navi 22 and Van Gogh as GFX1032.

Navi 21 also known as Big Navi has the GFX ID of 1030. One ID above sits Navi 22, which at this point is easy to guess it will succeed Navi 12. In case you missed the story, this chip is a custom GPU for Apple MacBook. The Navi 22 is likely to follow suit for next-gen MacBook.

When it comes to Navi 23, we are not sure yet where this processor will fit, but one would guess it will replace Navi 14. That said, it is likely an entry-level product.

The list could have been updated with Navi 10 Lite and Navi 21 Lite. Those GPUs are associated with semi-custom chips in next-generation gaming consoles (Ariel, Arden, Oberon, Sparkman, etc.). However, details on those GPUs are scarce and it is simply unclear what GFX level they represent.
