Today AMD introduced its Zen3-based Ryzen 5000 series. The new desktop processors will feature higher clocks and more perforamnce.
AMD announces its Ryzen 5000 series
AMD focused on showcasing Ryzen 9 5900X processor (which will cost 549 USD) in comparison to Ryzen 9 3900XT. The CPU is expected to be 26% faster in 1080p gaming (with high-quality preset). AMD also revealed that their 5900X CPU was also able to break the 600 point barrier in Cinebench R20 single-threaded benchmark.

Additionally, AMD also revealed Ryzen 7 5800X (8-cores/16-threads, 4.7 GHz boost) at 449 USD, Ryzen 5 5600X (6-core/12-thread with 4.6 GHz boost) at 299 USD and it’s a 16-core model called Ryzen 9 5950X. The latter will retail at 799 USD. It is also the only CPU in the lineup to offer a 4.9 GHz boost clock.
AMD confirmed its Ryzen 5000 series will start shipping on November 5th.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
The 5950X features 16-cores and 32-threads. With a 4.9 GHz boost clock, this processor will offer 5 to 27% better performance in content creation workloads compared to Ryzen 9 3900XT and up to 29% better gaming performance. This processor will launch on November 5th at the price of 799 USD.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
AMD’s 12-core and 24-thread CPU called Ryzen 9 5900X will offer 5 to 50% better performance in 1080p gaming compared to 3900XT and -3% to 21% performance compared to Core i9-10900K.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
An 8-core Ryzen 7 5800X, which will retail at 449 USD offers up to 11% better performance than Core i7-10700K. The AMD CPU is 40 USD more expensive than Intel’s SKU.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
A mid-range 6-core and 12-thread CPU will be 13% to 19% faster than Intel Core i5-10600K, according to official AMD slides. Both processors will have the same MSRP of 299 USD. The 5600X will also be available on November 5th.
