An overpriced blower card
At the “Next Horizon Gaming” event at E3 2019, AMD introduced Radeon RX 5700 series, featuring two SKUs: XT and non-XT. Since the name of RX 5000 series came from AMD’s 50th anniversary, the company would simply not miss the opportunity to launch a special edition for this very occasion.
The Radeon RX 5700 series is sticking to silver & red design, as did RX Vega and Radeon 7, but the special edition of Navi-based RX 5700 XT will be black & gold. This card is slightly faster than the reference 5700 XT model. The clock speed has been increased by roughly 80 MHz at the cost of 10W higher typical board power (235W).
The card will also cost 50 USD more than retail RX 5700 XT — 499 USD — which is *a bit* too much for a blower design.
