AMD Ryzen 7 7500F only through system integrators for gamers outside China

AMD has provided a statement confirming mid-range Ryzen CPU global availability, but there is a catch.

According to reports from the German media, AMD has clarified its plans for the launch of the Ryzen 5 7500F processor. This upcoming 6-core Zen4 desktop SKU has slightly lower clocks compared to the Ryzen 5 7600, and notably, it will not include integrated graphics. While this omission may pose challenges for users attempting to install the CPU without a discrete GPU, it is not expected to be a significant issue for most gamers who already have a separate graphics card.

Initial reports indicated that the Ryzen 5 7500F would debut in China, which turned out to be accurate. However, AMD seems to have overlooked providing any information to the international media. Despite the lack of official press releases or presentations in English, the CPU made a substantial debut in China, complete with official review coverage.

“This processor model will be available starting July 23, 2023 at 9PM ET. It will be available in greater china as a processor-in-box, and in the rest of world as an option for select system builders.”

— Markus Lindner, AMD Spokesman in Germany

Although the processor’s dedicated specification page on the AMD website states that it will be available globally, the reality is somewhat different. The Ryzen 5 7500F will have a DIY launch exclusively in China. However, AMD is not limiting sales outside the country. Consumers in other regions will need to rely on system integrators if they wish to build a system around this CPU.

Fortunately, in many cases, such processors are distributed by these system integrators to retail channel, so availability should not be a major concern. However, it’s worth noting that this won’t be an official channel, and customers may miss out on potential game bundles that AMD could offer with official releases.
