AMD 6-core Ryzen 5 7600X CPU drops to $199, cheaper than 7600 non-X and comes with Starfield game code

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is now $100 cheaper

Last week, several US retailers offered excellent deals on Intel and AMD CPUs. However, most of those deals are no longer available. Fortunately, there is a different SKU currently being sold for less than $200, and it is for AMD’s latest socket.

The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, released in 2022, is a CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads. It boasts a boost clock speed of up to 5.3 GHz, and it is currently the most affordable AM5 CPU on the market, in fact, it is even cheaper than the slower 7600 non-X model.

AMD has been somewhat slow in realizing that a price tag of $300 is too high for a 6-core desktop CPU in 2023. Only with the Ryzen 7600 non-X, priced at $230, did the company acknowledge that a lower price would be more suitable. However, since the availability of the second variant, both CPUs have been frequently swapping positions on discount charts, often surprising customers with a lower price for the higher-end model.

In this case, the Ryzen 5 7600 is now priced around $230, while the slightly faster and older variant is available for $199. This represents the first time the latter has reached such a low price, which is now $100 lower than the original manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).

What makes this deal even more enticing is that the Ryzen 5 7600X comes with a free Starfield game code, adding extra value (or resale potential) to the package. With the recent emergence of cheaper AM5 motherboards and DDR5 memory at new low prices, this could potentially serve as a viable alternative to Intel’s LGA1700 series, which is scheduled to undergo a ‘refresh’ before Intel sunsets the platform next year.
