NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU TGP reportedly goes up to 175W

Wccftech has a follow-up to their RTX 40 Laptop GPU coverage. The site has revealed the upcoming RTX 40 laptop GPU range, including the flagship RTX 4090 mobile GPU.

The latest update focuses on clocks and power limits for the new laptop series. It is said that RTX 40 GPUs may

The first 90-class laptop GPU, the RTX 4090 is said to feature up to 175W of power. The same power is already available with the RTX 3080 Ti of the current generation. This discrete mobile GPU will reportedly be available in two variants, with max TGP of 150W and 175W. The RTX 4090 mobile has a boost clock up to 2.04 GHz in its maximum configuration, almost 0.5 GHz higher than the previous flagship.

  • RTX 4090: 150+25W ≈ 175W
  • RTX 4080: 150+25W ≈ 175W
  • RTX 4070: 115+25W ≈ 140W
  • RTX 4060: 115+25W ≈ 140W
  • RTX 4050: 115+25W ≈ 140W

NVIDIA RTX 4080 Laptop GPU shouldn’t be much slower. This mobile card based on AD104 GPU is reportedly limited to a maximum of 175W (150W+25W Dynamic Boost). The base and boost clock speeds are reportedly 1.86 GHz and 2.28 GHz.

When it comes to more popular 70/60 series, NVIDIA RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 cards should feature very similar memory and TGP configuration. Both cards are reportedly equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and have max TGP of 140W (115+25W).

It is revealed that RTX 4070 has a boost clock up to 2.175 GHz, but unfortunately the frequency information for RTX 4060 mobile is not available yet. The RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 will have the lowest TGP setting at 85W, which is still adjustable up to 115W and can be improved with NVIDIA Dynamic Boost. This GPU reportedly boost up to 2.37 GHz, which is the highest frequency of all Ada Mobile cards.

All five RTX 40 Laptop GPUs are likely to make a debut during CES 2023 press conference, now set for January 3rd.
