ADATA has DDR5-6400 memory ready for Intel 14th Gen Core series

Intel 14th Gen Core supports DDR5-6400 memory

As spotted by Harukaze5719 at ADATA’s Computex, the company might have the world’s first DDR5 memory officially supporting Intel’s next-gen platform.

All DDR5 memory kits currently on the market should work with whatever Intel comes up with next, but there has been no mention of what kind of memory speed the upcoming series could support by default.

The product specs leaflet lists the 14th Gen Core series, which is most likely the Raptor Lake refresh, as it being mentioned by motherboard makers at the Computex floor. It further backs up the claim that desktop CPU refresh would mainly focus on CPU and memory speeds.

The first gen LGA1700 platform codenamed “Alder Lake” debuted with support for DDR5-4800 memory. The Z690 motherboards were also supporting faster overclocked memory kits, but officially 4800 MT/s was the JEDEC standard that this generation supported. With the introduction of 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” this speed has been increased to 5600 MT/s. Later on, Intel and board makers later enabled support for non-binary memory, which enables 24GB/48GB and 96GB module support.

Currently, there are no leaks on Raptor Lake Refresh memory spec support, but ADATA shows that their 6400 CKD DIMM memory is supported by the 14th Gen platform with low 1.1 voltages. This could be the new default speed, considering that we are looking at a new generation of the most basic memory DIMM module from ADATA.
