Acer announces its first 4K 144Hz gaming monitor with HDMI 2.1
If you are in a market for a high-resolution display that supports high refresh rates, then Acer might have a monitor for you. The Acer XV282K KV is part of the NITRO XV2 series. This is the first gaming monitor from Acer with HDMI 2.1 support, the new display connection standard that should become much more popular once Ampere/RDNA2 graphics cards and next-generation gaming consoles this the market.
The Acer XV282K KV features a 28-inch 4K panel (3840×2160) at a 144 Hz refresh rate. The panel was manufactured by Innolux and carries a codename of M280DCA AAS (Azimuthal Anchoring Switch), it’s an IPS-type panel.
The XV282K KV supports Adaptive-Sync and AMD FreeSync in a 48-144 Hz variable refresh rate. It’s a flicker-free WLED backlight with 90% DCI-P3 color gamut accuracy and 550 cd/m2 of luminance. Local luminance pulses of 600 cd/m2 are to be expected as this monitor has VESA HDR600 certification.
The monitor is equipped with a single DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC support and two HDMI 2.1 connectors. It also comes with 4 USB 3.0 ports and an audio jack output. The monitor is also equipped with dual 2W speakers.
The monitor is currently listed for ¥8499.00 (1246 USD). The seller is already taking preorders and the monitor is expected to ship in 3 months (in January 2021).
