New software for AMD Ryzen processor clock tunning.
CTR 1.0: Zen2 Better performance at lower power consumption?
Today 1usmus announced his new software called ‘ClockTuner for Ryzen (CTR by 1USMUS)’. This is of course the same developer that brought us DRAM Calculator for Ryzen. The software has already been previewed by Linus Tech tips (video below), but it is not yet available for download.
This is an automated program that will determine which core cluster has the best quality and potential for further adjustment. In other words, this tool operates at CCX (Core Complex) level and applies settings to the clusters, meaning the more CCXs your Ryzen processor has, the more likely the software is to find the best cluster.
ClockTuner for Ryzen will evaluate the stability of each CCX through various steps. It will automatically determine the best clock speed and voltage by performing quick custom Prime95 runs. The software also features built-in Cinebench 20 to determine the baseline and final result achieved with CTR.
The CTR is still in development and results shared by Linus and Guru3D were not achieved on a final version. According to the developer, the software will be available next month.
