AMD makes Ryzen 5000 series official
Zen3 is here. AMD today lifts the embargo on Ryzen 5000 series processor sales and reviews. AMD launches four processors based on a new 7nm Zen3 architecture.
The Ryzen 9 5950X is a 16-core flagship CPU for the AM4 socket. This CPU offers a boost clock up to 4.9 GHz with a power rating of 105W. This CPU will cost 799 USD. A 12-core model called Ryzen 9 5900X will retail at 549 USD. This SKU also has the same TDP (105W), but the clock speed is 100 MHz lower than 5950X. Both are considered premium CPUs that will be offered mainly for competitive gaming and content creators.
Today AMD is also launching Ryzen 5 5800X, an 8-core CPU that will cost 449 USD, and a 6-core CPU called Ryzen 5 5600X with a price tag of 299 USD. Both CPUs should serve as an upgrade path for first and second-gen Ryzen users.
