AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT

Yesterday AMD introduced the latest mid-range graphics card based on Navi architecture – the Radeon RX 5600 XT. This SKU is based on Navi 10 GPU with 2304 Stream Processors, so just as many as RX 5700 non-XT. This model, however, has a 192-bit memory bus and a lower memory clock. As a result, the bandwidth has been reduced by 160 GB/s to 288 GB/s.

AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT will be available starting at 279 USD. AMD expects a number of custom designs to be available at launch, which is set to January 21st. Today we will be looking at those designs.

RX 5600 XT Custom Designs

There are only few board partners missing from this list. ASUS has not yet revealed the full specs of their STRIX design – it was only teased by AMD themselves. Meanwhile Gigabyte did not have the full specs listed at the time of writing. Dataland, HIS and Yeston did not showcase their designs yet.

Only one card features reference clock speeds and that card is MSI MECH non-OC. The highest clocked model comes from PowerColor with a game clock of 1570 MHz and boost clock of 1620 MHz. We have already told you that the boost clock is pretty much meaningless and even board partners are not paying much attention to this metric, it’s pretty much the same for most cards (1600-1620 MHz).

Only three cards have more than one power connector: MSI GAMING (X and non-X) and THICC III Pro. The former series have dual 8-pin connectors, these are the only RX 5600 XT cards to have such configuration. The THICC III PRO (triple-fan) from XFX features 8+6-pin configuration, but surprisingly, this model is actually slower than THICC II Pro (dual-fan version) in terms of clocks.

Every single custom design so far features the same display configuration: 3x DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0b.

The longest design is also XFX THICC III Pro (32.6 cm) but there are quite a few models reaching 30 cm. In terms of thickness, the MSI GAMING cards are 5.8 cm, so they require 3-slots.
