NVIDIA GeForce GTX “980 Ti users to get first spot in line for 1080 Ti pre-orders”

Published: 17th Dec 2016, 20:47 GMT

PCWorld discovered a job listing, which revealed NVIDIA’s plans for so-called “Club GeForce” and yet unannounced product..

NVIDIA officially admits GTX 1080 Ti is in the works

One line at LinkedIn was without a doubt, not meant to be published. Considering that the job listing was posted one month ago, it’s unlikely that this line would originally be  meant for GTX 1080, since this card is on the market for months.

Targeted Spot Prizes To Drive Sentiment, Reward Behavior, And Grow Advocates

  • Free game codes for users who report a confirmed bug or contribute useful feature enhancement requests
  • Free game codes to our most active Share and GeForce Forum users
  • Free game codes to users who rank most negative and most positive on our sentiment tools
  • 980 Ti users get first spot in line for 1080 Ti pre-orders, or “Step Up” offer

So this is the first time NVIDIA officially lists GTX 1080 Ti, which is clearly targetted at GTX 980 Ti owners. Not only that, we also learn that GTX 1080 Ti will be available for preorder or ‘Step Up’ offer. Does it mean people will be able to exchange their cards for more powerful models in the future?

The timing of this leak is not really that surprising. It is expected that NVIDIA could reveal GTX 1080 Ti with GP102 GPU and 10GB RAM next month at CES. At the same time, AMD might begin promoting its Vega high-end graphics processor.

NVIDIA Club GeForce Elite

NVIDIA job listing also revealed a new loyalty program called Club GeForce, which will later develop into Club GeForce Elite for those who can pay 10 USD a month. They will receive free games, free ‘GeForce PC in the cloud’ and exclusive in-game items. The PC in the cloud is most likely based on GRID technology.

Here’s the quote from the job listing.
