The Division will soon join the exclusive club of DX12 supported games.

Yesterday the public test version of the game was updated to 1.5. This update brings many features, mostly focused on the gameplay. However, what’s not even mentioned in the public changelog, DX12 render was also included in this patch.

This mean that the Division is now 16th game to support DX12, alongside titles like these (via Wiki):

  1. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
  2. Caffeine
  3. Star Wars Battlefront
  4. Rise of the Tomb Raider
  5. Hitman
  6. Ashes of the Singularity
  7. Quantum Break
  8. Total War: Warhammer
  9. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
  10. Forza Motorsport 6: Apex
  11. Halo 5: Forge
  12. Forza Horizon 3
  13. Gears of War 4
  14. Battlefield 1
  15. Civilization VI
  16. The Division

Some users were already able to test this version, and here are the results (via Reddit):

  • DX11 Results: Avg FPS: 48.6 Typical FPS: 49.0 Avg CPU: 68% Avg GPU: 97%
  • DX12 Results: Avg FPS: 49.7 Typical FPS: 50.0 Avg CPU: 61% Avg GPU: 97%

So as you can see, the difference is within the margin of error, so in other words, quite disappointing.

If you wish to test DX12 rendered in this game, head on to your Uplay and install Division PTS. Be advised though, it requires 40GB of files to be downloaded.
