HIS is currently working on few Radeon R9 290X models. I heard they are even making IceQ X3 cooler (with three fans). But today, we have the opportunity to see their hybrid-cooled variant, the IceQ Hybrid.

HIS is making use of its non-reference PCB from iPower IceQX2 models. The IceQ Hybrid is nothing else than Radeon R9 290X with Arctic Accelero Hybrid cooler attached. Maybe this is not as good looking as R9 295X2 cooler, but it’s definitely cheaper and therefore affordable.

Hopefully HIS will soon ditch the blue PCB, which does not really fit to high-end models anymore. I did spoke to HIS recently and I told them that black PCBs are the future, and I’m  pretty sure they listened.

The HIS R9 290X IceQ Hybrid has two 8-pin power connectors. It’s quite powerful card, especially with more efficient cooler. We should learn more details about this card very soon.
