NVIDIA will release it’s new TITAN next week. This is not a huge announcement. You won’t see Jen-Hsun Huang on stage trying to persuade you to buy it with SHIELD. TITAN Black will quietly appear in stores, and those who really want it, will be able to purchase it shortly after NDA lifts.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN BLACK specifications
NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN BLACK will be equipped with GK110-430 GPU which packs 2880 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs and 48 ROPs. The GPU is clocked higher than GTX 780 Ti, so yes, TITAN BLACK will be faster than it’s 3GB brother. Speaking of memory size, TITAN BLACK has 6GB GDDR5 memory and 384-bit interface. The launch of a new TITAN should end the speculation about 6GB 780 Ti being prepared. It would simply make no sense.
The good news is that TITAN BLACK PCB is almost exactly the same as GTX 780 Ti. Thus custom cooling manufactures can easily adapt their coolers to the new card.
Performance
NVIDIA doesn’t say anything specific about the performance. In fact, this card won’t even be sent to as many reviewers as you might think. Only the most ‘obedient’ reviewers will have the opportunity to play with it.
In its advertisement NVIDIA says it’s 15% faster than original TITAN, while offering whisper quiet operation.
As for double precision performance in the table, I had to calculate this myself, because NVIDIA’s numbers made no sense, it wasn’t anything close to 1/3 FP32, more like 1/4. So don’t really treat this particular line official.
When
NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN BLACK will be released on February 18th. I don’t know the official price yet, but the $999 price tag seems to find its confirmation in store listings.
