AMD Radeon R7 270 specifications

The rumor has it that Radeon R9 270 is simply Radeon HD 7870 with slightly higher clocks, but still lower than 270X’s. The R9 270 is still Pitcairn based, only AMD calls it Curacao. The card features 1280 Stream Processors, 80 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The clock speeds are not confirmed, some samples have 900 MHz others have 950 MHz, I chose the lowest I could find. The memory clock is the same as on R9 270X — 5600 MHz. Both cards will have 2GB GDDR5 memory by default.

According to VR-Zone cards with reference coolers will only be available to the press. The retail versions of R9 270 will be equipped with custom cooling solutions.

The R9 270 will compete with GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost and GTX 660. Card is expected to cost around $179.
