Are you ready for some big news?
MSI is already sending out their pricing list to retailers for the Radeon R9 and R7 series. You might have stumbled upon information that stores will begin selling new cards this Friday, and this is the pricing list given to them:
MSI Radeon R9 and R7 pricing | ||
---|---|---|
Model | Product Code | Price |
MSI Radeon R9 290X | R9-290X-4GD5 | 649 EUR |
MSI Radeon R9 290 | R9-290-4GD5 | 519 EUR |
MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming | R9-280X-Gaming | 279 EUR |
MSI Radeon R9 270X Hawk | R9-270X-Hawk | 219 EUR |
MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming | R9-270X-Gaming | 199 EUR |
MSI Radeon R7 260X OC | R7-260X-OC-2GD5 | 129 EUR |
MSI Radeon R7 250 | R7-250-OC-1GD5 | 95 EUR |
So you are probably wondering how accurate this is. I cannot say this is 100% the final pricing list (even the reviewers will tell you that AMD hasn’t really shared this information with them), but this is the most accurate data you can currently get. Plus, this is the data that is being sent to the retailers (those who actually sell these cards). The US pricing should be very similar, only the currency is different. That said the R9 290X should cost 649 USD and R9 290 around 519 (maybe even 499 USD).
The winter is coming
If you were afraid that you won’t be able to afford this card then don’t be. In Montreal, NVIDIA will be showing something that may change the pricing in high-end segment on both sides. It’s for gamers and it’s not ONLY a GPU (more information to come).
